Gerald Genta Digital 'Mickey'

€0.00

The undeniable genius of the most important and influential watch designer of all time: Gerald Genta. The man, the myth, the legend. From his creative artistry came the Polerouter, the Constellation, the Royal Oak and the Nautilus (and many more) before he finally decided to create his own brand and cement his identity in the 1980s.

As the story goes, he was commissioned by the Sultan of Brunei to make various unique pieces featuring the most famous cartoon mouse: Mickey Mouse. After obtaining special licensing from Disney, Genta went on to produce many Disney themed iterations of his brevetted digital jump hour watches.

This particular example is a 36mm, automatic reference G.3632.7 and has a particularly early serial placing it in the late 1980s and making it amongst the first ever produced. It features a stunning Mother of Pearl dial and a funky dial and the retrograde hand being the Mickey’s arm. An homage to high level watchmaking with a twist of irony and playfulness, and today one of his own brands most sought after models.
