Wittnauer Chronograph 'Salmon'

€8,500.00

The A. Wittnauer Company was an american watch company that was absorbed by Longines in an attempt to breach the american market.

The following Wittnauer is an extremely rare vintage chronograph model made in the 1940’s that epitomizes the swiss savoir-faire: powerful pump pusher and screwback signed case fitted with a beautiful signed Valjoux 71 calibre (the predecessor of the Vx 72).

What further sets this watch apart is the incredible Salmon dial - a hyper rare color at the time and arguably one of the most desirable configurations. Further more the original radium is applied in a fashion reminiscent of the later 242T models, the ones that supposedly competed against the speedmaster to win the moon journey.

A truly spectacular vintage watch, and one of only 2 known Wittnauers known in this configuration. Triple signed and in the best condition possible
